Life Coaching: “A Powerful & Effective Alternative to Therapy Counseling”
Life coaching can be effectively productive for those who want, for example, to change their careers, lose weight, correct obsessions, improve roadblocks to success, or solve marital and relationship problems.
In fact, Life Coaching can be compared to a “sports coach”. For instance, a sports coach is someone who is unattached emotionally to the athlete. He/she is looking for constructive defects in order to focus on improvement and achieving excellence for the athlete. The same illustrations can be applied to a Life Coach, as well. Coaches are not there to be your best friend. They are not tied to you emotionally; moreover, their primary concern is to help transform you into your ultimate best. Coaches want you to succeed without any personal motives like jealousy or competitiveness that sometimes occurs with friends or family members.
Although therapy counselors have a Master’s Degree in Psychology, are state certified, and offer insurance options, office visits can be quite costly if you do not have insurance.
On the other hand, you have the alternative to search for a moderately priced Life Coach who offers various credit card payments and monthly packages that could give you more for your time and buck; especially, since coaches cannot offer insurance options, by the law. Remember, preferring a counselor does not necessarily guarantee that you will be fully healed or even at best, feel better than when you hired them. Many Life Coaches are fully equipped to handle the most complicated issues and problems you may encounter due to knowledge, staying informed, and simply having a tremendous background of experience; thus, allowing for exceptional wisdom and insight.
Still, other coaches have also gone the course by seeking accredited degrees in subjects like psychology, as I did. In other words, it is a matter of finding that right person who has enough hands-on-experience, perception, and personality that suits you and your special problem or goals.
Therefore, “coaching” can be a successful and dynamic alternative to traditional counseling therapists. And finally, remember that you the client or consumer has to be alert as to what you are really trying to accomplish; e.g., making sure that you do the interviewing, as well as, being interviewed when deciding on your coach or counselor.
