Even The Most Feared Obstacles In Creating Can Bring You Unexpected Joy

I interviewed several of my clients on the subject of, “What Were The Most Critical Obstacles That Prevented You From Writing Your First Online Course?”

Many of these people who answered the questions went on to create not only their first course but several additional courses, as well.

Here’s what they reported:

1-I’m afraid of failing

2-I’m overwhelmed at the thought of beginning

3-Who’s going to buy it from me

4-I’m too inexperienced for the public

5-I don’t have enough skills

6-I don’t have money to invest

7-I don’t have time

8-I don’t have the discipline needed

9-I don’t know where to start

10-I don’t know who my target market is

These are legitimate fears. I hear this over and over again. I am patient and compassionate with my clients. I understand completely.

But the truth is that most people not only have one talent but, have several talents.

Yes, it’s true. And I have found it to be true over years of observing them. When I ask people to list all of the things they think they can do well, they list a whole lot of skills, educational experiences, knowledge, passions, and expert approaches to solving problems within their companies and personal life too.

It is amazing to witness. I allow them to let it ALL out on paper and we discuss it, especially if they’re having an issue with recognizing and believing what they truly have to offer.

On the other hand, there are people who are very clear about what they have and want to offer. They may still have some fears about specific short-comings but they still want to go forward with or without the fears. And I think basically down deep inside, everyone wants to conquer the fears that hold them back.

In my course, when I teach people to create their own online course, I address those fears from the get-go, so they can get ahold of them from the very beginning. It’s about finding and then capturing the MOTIVATION that propels the person into freedom of creating without holding back anything.

I guide and support my students through the process so they don’t lose the momentum and are able to bring their creativity to fruition.

In fact, as I mentioned, these successful people go on to create many more courses, serving the public and solving the problems others may have in order to move forward in their careers or personal life.

The bottom line is that in serving others and addressing their needs is key to our functioning as individuals. Because, wouldn’t you agree that it’s a “gift” to serve? I think it’s a gift because haven’t you ever experienced that warm feeling you get when you’ve done something good for someone who really needed you at that moment?

So, when people write their first online course and then go on to create several more, I believe they have put aside their fears for the rewards they have received from witnessing the joy of the people they have helped.

Creating courses is about…helping and serving.

I don’t know about you but, there’s nothing that gives me more joy!
